  1. How much does wrestling cost? 

                   DWC fee = $50 (1 per wrestler) Cost is reduced to $40 if you are a Middle School wrestler joining us in December.

                   Refundable singlet deposit =$75 (1 per wrestler)

                   Refundable tournament deposit =$100 (1 per family)

                   USA wrestling card fee = $40 (1 per wrestler, must be purchased by visiting https://www.usawmembership.com/login.

 

  1. How do we get our refundable deposits back?  Return the singlet back to DWC in good condition at the end of the season. You can earn the tournament deposit back by working 1 shift at our tournament in January and 1 shift at our tournament in February.
  2. When are the practices?  Practices are typically held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6pm and usually ending around 7:30.

     

  3. Where are the practices at?  Practice locations are set depending on the number of wrestlers.  Room locations are announced at the beginning of each season and as wrestlers join the club.

     

  4. What equipment do I have to buy?  Wrestling shoes are strongly recommended and each wrestler is required to wear a headgear.

     

  5. When are the tournaments?  See the Calendar tab at the top of our website.  Open tournaments are usually on Saturday and Novice tournaments are typically on Sunday.  

  6. Do we have to go to all of the tournaments?   No, you can pick and choose the tournaments that meet your schedule. 

  7. What age can my child start wrestling?  The age divisions in Kansas are 6 & Under, 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 12 & Under and 14 & Under.  September 1st is the cutoff date so your child will wrestle in the age division however old they are on or before September 1 of that current wrestling season.

  8. What are the weight classes?   CLICK ON THE "Weight Classes" Tab under the HOME TAB above. 

  9. What age group will my wrestler be in?  Ages are determined as of midnight, August 31, 2023.

  10. How long is the season?  We usually start novice and open practice in the 2nd week of November.  Novice season finishes up mid to late February.  Open wrestlers can compete all the way until the end of March if they qualify for the state tournament which is usually the last weekend of March.
